Marcus King grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, playing guitar under the guidance of his father, bluesman Marvin King. By his early twenties, he had already built a reputation as a powerful guitarist and soulful singer, fronting The Marcus King Band and blending Southern rock, blues, and soul.
