LAS ROBERTAS, ALL WE NEED IS NOW

I wasn’t familiar with Las Robertas before, but I dove into All We Need Is Now and found myself hooked. Formed in San José, Costa Rica in 2009, the band built their sound on garage rock, surf, and psychedelia. But this album leans into lush dream pop and shoegaze, with layered guitars, hazy textures, and melodies that recall bands like Slowdive, Lush, and Ride, all of which I still hold dear. 

Lyrically, the band focuses on living in the present, letting go of the past, and finding hope. But for me, it’s the sound that’s so compelling. A nostalgic nod to the 90s sound that I love. This may make me a bit biased towards All We Need Is Now, but I’m OK with that if true. This is an album that I've enjoyed since I first heard it.
