Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, the project of Pennsylvania-born singer and songwriter Adam McIlwee, began after his time as a founding member of the emo band Tigers Jaw and grew through his work with the GothBoiClique collective. Often called “emo rap” or “darkwave hip-hop,” his music also stretches into folk and indie territory, a range that comes through clearly on Suffer On. The album strips his sound back to its core, built around stark acoustic guitar and minimal electronics, leaving space for his voice and words to take center stage. The songs circle themes of isolation, loss, and searching for connection, carried by melodies that feel both fragile and insistent. It shows how powerful his writing can be when nothing gets in the way.
