Pumarosa’s debut album The Witch is a brooding, shape-shifting listen that never quite settles, and that’s its power. Built on tension and release, the record moves from wiry post-punk grooves to widescreen electronic swells without losing its grip. Isabel Muñoz-Newsome's vocals are commanding and theatrical, cutting through the haze with purpose as the band leans into a sound that’s both ritualistic and raw. Tracks like “Priestess” and “Dragonfly” feel almost spell-cast, loaded with momentum and meaning, while the title track pulses with eerie calm. It’s a debut that plays with form, but always keeps feeling at the center.
